It's ya that much-awaited technology that can make any country who feel deprived of land to develop the plant.
Imec developed by Mebiol, Japan is a technology that makes crops can be grown on a layer of film that only 10 microns thick.
Film called hydro-membranes have advantages in terms of health where the growing plants with a layer of film (without soil) is then the plants can be protected from various kinds of bacteria normally found in the soil.
Hydro-membrane itself is made of gel material used in the nappies (diapers) where this layer will hold water for no exit. The technology itself is also used by NASA (U.S. Space Agency).
Currently, Imec been successfully tested and managed to make a lot of plants grow / grow well from tomatoes, cucumbers and others.
Looking ahead, the coating film will be made stronger so that we can plant a tree with strong roots without having to land.
