Juan Mata admitted one of the factors he joined Chelsea Fernando Torres is a persuasion. Eyes are ready to make the Blues a more attacking team this season.
Eye has completed his move from Valencia to Chelsea after signing a contract for five years, Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Transfer value of the Spanish international midfielder is believed to be at 26.7 million pounds or the equivalent of Rp373 billion.
Eyes become the fourth purchase of Chelsea this season after Thibaut Courtois, Oriol Romeu and Romelu Lukaku. Midfielder 23 who can play as a winger or second striker is hoping to meet the demand manager Andre Villas-Boas to make Chelsea a more attacking team.
"He (Villas-Boas) said he wanted to see Chelsea play more attacking, and I will become an important part of it. The plan is that I can play on the wing or center. Playing in between the front and center. I want to adapt as quickly as possible," Mata said as quoted by the official Chelsea website.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in bringing eyes, but the player who delivered the 2010 World Cup champion Spain prefers Chelsea. That is because the eyes get feedback and persuasion from Fernando Torres, who incidentally teammate on the Spanish national team.
"Fernando (Torres) got me interested to come here. He said he would be good for me down here and play together. I also talk with my family and friends," said Mata.
Mata did not take long to join his teammates. Yesterday, the Eye has been doing exercises with Frank Lampard and his friends.
Valencia itself sells currency to overcome the financial difficulties they are experiencing. Mata is a Spanish national team star sold by Valencia after the previous release to Barcelona David Villa and David Silva to Manchester City.
