More than 1,000 Royal Navy personnel must be prepared to experience layoffs. They became the first stage of the scheme cutting military personnel who had designed the British government.
According to BBC news station, 30 September 2011, a total of 1020 staff immediately pull out of unity AL. 810 people have filed for early retirement and 670 of them have been approved.
Royal Navy plans to cut the number of personnel as many as 5,000 people for four years. Then in 2015, the number of personnel of 30,000 people only.
Overall, the British military should apply the layoff or early retirement programs to 22,000 people. This is to save the budget as much as 5 billion pounds sterling. UK Finance, too, were troubled though not as badly as some other European countries and should be cut back.
Former British naval commander, Admiral Lord West revealed his sadness to the BBC. "We must cut and cut again the number of personnel over the years. This could be dangerous if the number is significant because we can not do as a country properly," said Lord West.
