As quoted from the pages of CNN, Abbas said Israel continues to obstruct peace, so this is the right time for the UN to act.

"We aspire to have a greater role and more effective for the United Nations. To achieve a just peace and komprejensif that ensures our region, the legitimate national rights for the Palestinians, "Abbas said in his speech. Abbas's speech was greeted with thunderous applause.

The speech was drawing attention in the Middle East. Hundreds of residents gathered in Ramallah and watched the speech together. They cheered because the president has formally requested the state.
