10-10-1911: Chinese Emperor Roll Revolution

Exactly one hundred years ago, nationalist fighters in China declared the establishment of the republic. Thus, after 2,000 years ruled by kings, no longer a form of imperial China but became the Republic of China.
According to historian Edward J. M. Rhoads in his book entitled "Manchus & Han: Ethnic Relations and Political Power in Late Qing and Early Republican China, 1861-1928," the event was known as the Xinhai Revolution (Hsinhai), which is also popularly called the Revolution of 1911 or the Chinese Revolution.



The nationalist leaders, like Dr. Sun Yat-sen, when it raised the rebellion to overthrew the imperial Qing dynasty, which has been in power since 1644. The result, "Last Emperor" of China, Pu Yi, an official from power on February 12, 1912.
The Revolution was a reaction to the inability of the Qing dynasty to lift the glory of China. In fact, the Empire of China in recent years even subject to foreign powers - both from the West or from Japan. People were left destitute, so make the Sun Yat-sen and other fighters waging the fight to end the king's power in China.
The revolution marked by a military coup in Wuhan, central China, which launched the underground anti-Qing dynasty with the support of the revolutionaries in exile.
Armed conflicts which took place at that time managed to end through political compromise between Yuan Shikai, the military commander of the Qing dynasty, with Sun Yat-sen, who was the leader of The Alliance of Revolutionary China (Tongmenghui).
Compromise was also produces the transfer of power from the Qing dynasty to the new republic. Republican government is run by the Yuan, the formation of political parties and the results of the first parliamentary elections in 1913. Sun Yat-sen himself had become interim President of the Republic of China, from December 29, 1911 until March 10, 1912.
After the empire had been overthrown, the situation in China instead of directly improving. The country was soon hit by civil war for years, which led to the dispute are two camps - the nationalist forces led by General Chiang Kai-shek and Mao Zedong led the Communist faction.
In 1949, the Nationalist stronghold eventually eliminated from the Chinese Mainland. They then moved to the island of Taiwan to continue to use the name Republic of China. Communist stronghold on October 1, 1949 to establish a new country called the People's Republic of China.
