3 Days Before Death Scientists Receive Nobel

Nobel Prize winning scientists in health, for his role against cancer, died, also from cancer.
Scientists from Canada, Ralph Steinman, died three days before the bestowal of the Nobel ceremony. Still, he could use the findings to prolong his life.
Steinman died on Friday, September 30, 2011, four years ago after battling pancreatic cancer. At the end of his life, his 68-year care of herself with breakthrough therapies resulting from research on the immune system. His colleagues at Rockefeller University called his achievements as, "honor the bitter".
For information, never before awarded the Nobel to someone who has died. Nobel Committee at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden admitted only learned of the death Steinman, after the announcement. So, most likely, Steinman did not know already won the most prestigious award along with American Bruce Beutler and Jules Hoffmann of France.
Nobel committee officials hastily clarified 'unique circumstances' of this. Secretary-General, said Goran Hansson, Steinman died a few hours before a decision is produced. To the Swedish news agency, Hansson said, the panel was considering what to do with the prize money. For, a Nobel prize was never given to the person who has died. "Nobel Foundation has recognized Ralph Steinman of discovery about the immune response," said the president of Rockefeller University, Marc Tessier-Lavigne, as quoted by Reuters.
However, he added, this bitter news. "Because, just this morning we knew he had died a few days ago, after a long struggle against cancer," he added.
