Volcanic Ash covered, Cancel Flights in Argentina

Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina, canceled all its flights on Sunday, October 16, 2011, due to volcanic ash from Mount Puyehue in Chile. Abu also reported damaging tourism sites in the country.

"We hope the ash quickly disappear so that all airlines can operate all of their flights as usual," said Transport Minister of Argentina, Juan Pablo Schiavi, such as the Daily Telegraph published on Monday, October 17, 2011.



Domestic flight routes are the most disadvantaged of this incident, it said by airline LAN said in a statement. Route to Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes to the border of Chile and Ushuaia in the south also affected.

In addition to disrupt flight schedules, volcanic ash also damage the snow at the ski resort of Bariloche, about 1,600 miles southwest of Buenos Aires. As a result of ash, blackened snow in these locations, making the number of tourists decreased.
