Today Steve Jobs decides to California

The state of California, United States, officially set the date for October 16 as the Day of Steve Jobs. This was done as a tribute to the founder of Apple who was born in the state.

California Governor Jerry Brown called the man who died last October 5 from pancreatic cancer as the embodiment of dreams Californians. "His discovery changed the industry, and products that he developed has changed the way the world communicates," Brown said in a statement quoted by the daily Le Monde, Sunday, October 16, 2011.



Brown stressed that the most important of Steve Jobs is a big vision. "His vision has helped the spread of technology previously only owned a large enterprise or a region so it can be widely consumed," he added.

In the eyes of the state's population is nicknamed The Golden State, Steve Jobs is a unique thinker who is the pride of California. Therefore, it is natural to set a special day to appreciate Jobs and all his inventions.

"Jobs symbolizes the spirit of the U.S. who always wanted to be everyone's attention, especially those that want to feel how it feels to be part of the future," Brown said.

Steve Jobs commemorate other events are also held in Silicon Valley, which still includes parts of California. Jobs's wife recalls her late husband held at Stanford University on Sunday, while the ranks of Apple executives and employees will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, September 19.
