Found, 1 Ton Heavy Giant Crocodile



Bunawan villagers in the province of Agusan del Sur, the Philippines, now feel safe to roam around the local river. A large crocodile, which had been threatening them, captured the team hunter on September 5, 2011.

According to Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde, quoted by the Associated Press, saltwater crocodiles are captured alive, has a length of 6.4 meters and weigh more than 1 ton. According to Elorde, this reptile is the largest ever caught in recent years in the Philippines.



The veteran hunters and local residents have been lurking alligator for three weeks around the rivers. Four traps are installed is not strong to overcome the power of the crocodile. It was only after hunters using steel wire, this crocodile does not move.

Need more than 100 people to drag the crocodile from the water and a machine to lift it onto the truck. The plan, these giant predators will be sent to a local wildlife park as the main attraction.

This crocodile had become a threat to Bunawan, the village has a population of 37,000 inhabitants. Elorde said this crocodile devouring a buffalo water last month and allegedly killed a fisherman, who was reported missing since last July.

Although the giant crocodile has been captured, local residents should not remain complacent. It is estimated that there are still a few more tails saltwater crocodiles in the river that crosses the province of Agusan del Sur. (ren)
