Iran: Agony Somalia US-Israeli Conspiracy

Famine in Somalia led to tens of thousands of people died. The Iranian government says the disaster is none other than the result of a conspiracy between Israel and the United States.

It is delivered by the commander of Iran's Basij combat forces, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi, told the news agency Press TV, Wednesday, August 17, 2011. He said that Israel and the U.S. is the cause of suffering in Somalia in the first place.

 

"The U.S. and Israel lead to insecurity and unrest in Somalia. They also prevent the people of Somalia to form a stable government," said Naqdi.

Chaotic situation in Somalia in 1991 after the landlord ousted dictator Mohamed Siad Barre. Since then, there is no effective governance in the country.

Government recognized by the United Nations not only to master more than half the regions of Somalia. Meanwhile, several other areas controlled by the militant extremist al-Shabaab.

Naqdi said the Iranian government has provided assistance to the starving people of Somalia. Mozaffar Mahmoud, head of the Iranian Red Crescent, said on Wednesday yesterday morning boat carrying three Iran's aid has left for Somalia. Iran plans to deliver humanitarian aid by sea fourth.

As many as 3.2 million Somalis suffering from hunger. The UN says more than 13 of the 10,000 young children in Somalia die of starvation every day. Over the past 90 days, 29,000 Somali children have been killed.
