Diversity School In Indonesia In the Age of Dutch Colonialism



At the time of Dutch colonialism in Indonesia was first established various types of Dutch schools are divided into various types, namely:

1. ELS (Eurospeesch Lagere School) or also called HIS (Hollandsch Inlandsch School) elementary schools with a duration of about 7 years. This school menggonakan systems and methods such as public schools in the Netherlands.

2. HBS (Hogere Burger School) which is the first high school for native citizens with learning 5 years old. AMS (Algemeen Metddelbare School) similar to HBS, but the level of senior secondary / high school.



3. School of Earth Son (Inlandsch School) with the language of instruction is learning the local language and study for 5 years old.

4. Village School (Volksch School) with the language of instruction to learn the language learning area and is 3 years old.

5. School for the village school (Vervolksch School) to learn the language and local language introduction during the 2-year study period.

6. Transitional School (Schakel School) that is high school for the village school with a long learning 5 years and speak Dutch in teaching and learning activities.

7. School MULO first advanced level stands Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs with the same level with smp / junior high school when compared with the present.

8. Stovia (School Tot Opleiding Van Inlansche Artsen) which is often referred to as the medical school to learn Java with a period of 7 years as an advanced MULO.
