New Libyan Islamic Thus Moderate, Not Radical



Stronghold of anti Muammar Gaddafi who was forming the transitional government in Libya, the National Transition Council (NTC), determined to bring them to a democratic state, based on the principles of moderate Islam. NTC also reject radical ideologies.


As reported by BBC news station, 13 September 2011, a determination was made leader of the NTC, Mustafa Abdul Jalil, in his first speech in Martyrs Square, Tripoli. NTC said that Gaddafi's regime has ditumpaskan. Gaddafi himself was hunted.

In front of thousands of supporters, Jalil also reiterated Libya's leadership will be more advanced than the next leadership of Gaddafi. He later said his government will not accept extremist understand. He also called for more women's role in Libya next government.

"We are a nation of Muslims, adherents of moderate Islam, and we will defend it. You guys along and support us. You are our weapon against all those who want to hijack the revolution," said Jalil.

NTC is a rival government established in Benghazi against Gaddafi. The council claims that Gaddafi has been the coup and its leadership has ended. However, the government of Libyan leader Gaddafi has denied this.

In a statement, the Libyan government said that Gaddafi is still leading in his hiding place. Gaddafi in an audio tape said he and his followers will continue to fight the rebels who backed the Western powers.

The presence of Gaddafi still a mystery. Various speculations said Gaddafi fled to neighboring countries such as Chad and Niger. However, Gaddafi said he would not leave the country and continues to resist from within. This is confirmed by the closest people. (ren)
