A Yak-42 jet that brought the team from the Russian Ice Hockey, crashed on takeoff at the airport near the city of Yaroslavl, Volga River about 240 kilometers (150 miles) northeast of Moscow, Russia West.
As a result of the incident as many as 36 people were killed and one survived but suffered severe injuries. Known, the plane was carrying an ice hockey team of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
Head of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told the Associated Press, Wednesday, September 7, 2011, the plane was carrying an ice hockey team who will go to Minsk, the capital of Belarus. They will play against Dinamo Minsk, in the opening of the Continental Hockey League season. CHL is the league of some ex-Soviet countries that began on Thursday, September 8, 2011.
As is known, jet aircraft Yakovlev Yak-42 (NATO code: Clobber) is a passenger aircraft with three jet engines. It looked like a Tupolev Tu-134. This class Boeing 727 aircraft as a medium-range jet. The aircraft was first produced in 1980.
