The government of Saudi Arabia denied the kidnapping threat for the citizens of Western countries, especially the United States in his country. Rebuttal is filed following the issuance of warnings to be alert for residents west of U.S. Embassy in Riyadh.
Saudi Arabia's royal advisor, quoted by CNN, Thursday, September 29, 2011, insists there is no intelligence report that says no threat from Islamic militants kidnapped in Saudi Arabia. The unnamed advisers also wonder, from where the U.S. can such information.
"We were not informed of the existence of intelligence reports or warnings, we wonder where that report came from. It may be credible, it may not, at present we can not decide," he said.
American government in its warning letter asking its citizens in Saudi Arabia to be vigilant following a report that indicates a planned abduction of Western citizens by terrorists in this country. In commemoration, the U.S. also said the Saudis are many demonstrations and violence from terrorist groups.
Royal advisers strongly denied the warning. He even criticized the U.S. who roam in Saudi terrorist states. "The way of writing the warning is not acceptable. There is no group of terrorists on the loose in Riyadh and threatened to kidnap citizens," the adviser said.
A spokesman for the U.S. State Department, Mark Toner, on Wednesday said that he could not say more about the intelligence reports. Despite a warning issued, but U.S. citizens are asked not to leave the country. "Our information is credible, if not, why would we issue a warning," he said.
